I am trying to create an android playlist. All it lets me do is create m3u playlists. I go to criteria, pick album, and pick all my files then press plus and it says create m3u playlist. It creates it properly. In the m3u i cannot sort or anything its all manual. In the android playlist i have options to sort and then export to m3u. But even tho i set my default to android playlist in settings all i can create it. Thanks for your prompt answer
GUI is poor / outdated, if you really want to dig into I imagine it might work - like the reading of my large library seemed faster enough? Major issue is that it seems to be a bit buggy with newer phones (pixel 6, without external storage), seems to keep asking about sdcard when I don't have one? Seems like cool that someone is working on this, but for the price should be more polished and devs shouldn't complain about reviews.
Total waste of time and money.
Experience was horrible. Tried everything and followed all the instructions but the app just didn't work for me. I guess all I can do is wait and hope the Poweramp dev will implement a ratings saving feature but til then I'll stick with Oto music, better rating preservation and bulk favoriting makes it easy to save and restore
The app stopped working after the last update. I contacted the developer and we traded emails until he found the problem. Awesome care and concern for the user!! Thanks!!!
Useless. Crashed all the time
I want to give it minus star, because it has nothing to offer. Poweramp is my best player & is my favourite one. I bought this Playlist Manager app when I saw that it enhances Poweramp's functions and installed it straight away but unfortunately it has nothing to do with it. Even Poweramp already have best & easy to do features than New Playlist Manager. Regreted
I've used this app since 2017. I use it mainly to keep track of records in my Poweramp playlists. I have the habit of keeping track of how many times songs are played over the years. When I switch phones (every 2yrs) this data will be lost, that's when this awesome app comes into play. I just export data to a file and put that file into my new phone, then import it. Baam! Everything is the same again: play count, ratings, tags,... So amazing.
Great feedback from the developer and made the copy Playlist tracks to a separate folder work! Thank you again!
I've been looking for a solution to generate smart playlists for a while, i.e. dynamically from ID3 tags based on multiple AND/OR criteria. This app manages to do this, which is great. But, you really need to pay attention – the user interface is not as intuitive as it could be. Like others here, I struggled initially to get permissions set correctly (took several attempts, despite setting to root folder). I see that the link to the instructional video on YouTube has now been restored, but more explicit instruction within the app itself would be ideal; it wasn't clear whether I should be simply hovering in the root and selecting nothing, or selecting the drive itself. The process of building a smart playlist is also not entirely intuitive – just building your query isn't enough. After saving your query you then have to 'select' it. For me (large music library), the screen then hangs for around 20 minutes, with no indication as to what is happening. Some feedback at this point (maybe just a message stating it can take a while) would be reassuring, as it looks like the app has crashed. This doesn't mean your playlist is ready – you still need to select all the tracks from the query, and then choose to save this as a playlist. Finally, your playlist is ready. A lot more steps than strictly necessary, but it can be done. Presumably all these steps help the system tie-in with the other features of the app, but as someone looking for a simple smart playlist generator based entirely on database queries, it would be preferable just to write the query once and let the app handle the rest; periodically auto-updating the playlists in the background (as new music is added to the library), rather than having to go through all the steps of playlist generation whenever you want it to pull new tunes. In summary, if you want smart playlists, this is an great app and will get the job done, but the learning curve is steeper than it needs to be; you have to be patient (and have faith that it hasn't crashed) as the process of generating playlists can take a very long time. It would be nice to see a system (either here or in another app) that maintains dynamic playlists as a background process rather than requiring so much work from the user to keep them up-to-date.
